Johnnie, a railroad engineer, was rejected from joining the Civil War because he was considered more useful on the railroad. His lover, Annabelle Lee, thought he was a coward—until Union spies kidnapped his beloved train, "The General," with Annabelle inside. Now, Johnnie must prove his mettle by saving the two in an adventure full of action, comedy and suspense on the rails.
