Spiral (Uzumaki)

In a small town in Japan, Kirie witnesses her boyfriend's father becoming obsessed with spirals to a terrifying degree. Initially just recording snails, his obsession turns into madness that culminates in his horrific death in a washing machine. Before long, the entire town begins to be affected by the spiral curse—one student turns into a slug, a girl's hair moves like Medusa's. The city is slowly devoured by the spiral, and Kirie must face the inevitable terror.
