In the bleak French countryside, Mouchette, a neglected young girl, faces a cruel life in silence. His mother was dying, his father was indifferent, and the world seemed to continue to insult him. One night, he meets Arsene, a village poacher who thinks he has killed the local policeman. Arsene uses Mouchette to build an alibi, dragging him deeper into darkness. Will Mouchette find escape or sink into despair?
