Blanche Tyler, a fake medium, is recruited by elderly millionaire Julia Rainbird to find her missing niece—in exchange for an inheritance. Together with her boyfriend, George, Blanche plunges into a world of intrigue and kidnapping, unaware that their target is Arthur Adamson, a cruel criminal with a penchant for extorting ransoms.
