In the post-World War I era, two talented runners from England, Harold Abrahams and Eric Liddell, lived their lives with different motivations. Harold, a Jew who feels marginalized despite living well, uses running to prove himself. Meanwhile Eric, a devout Christian missionary, sees his speed as a gift from God that must be respected. Their rivalry culminates in the 1924 Paris Olympics, where faith, ambition and self-esteem are tested. Who will emerge victorious, not only on the track, but also in life principles?
