Alpha follows a 13-year-old teenage girl living with her doctor mother in 1980s France; One day he comes home from school with a tattoo on his arm that raises fears that he may have been exposed to a deadly and exotic new blood disease, but social stigma, family fear, and the brutal reality of the disease reveal the extent to which love and rejection can change a life — will his family's efforts to confront this threat become a reflection of the collective fear of disease and community marginalization?
