1987: When the Day Comes (1987)
In the midst of Korea's repressive military regime in 1987, a student died as a result of torture during police interrogation. The government tried to cover up his death by ordering the body's cremation, but a suspicious prosecutor refused to believe that the 21-year-old died of a heart attack. Despite systematic efforts to silence all witnesses, the truth eventually emerged and sparked explosive public outrage.
